2025 Preventative Maintenance Project (Culver/University)

Project Description:

This is a federally funded project that includes the following streets in the City of Rochester:

  • Culver Road between Monroe Avenue and Atlantic Avenue
  • University Avenue between N Goodman Street and Culver Road
  • Monroe Avenue between Werner Park and Culver Road

The project will include, but is not limited to milling and resurfacing of the pavement, spot curb and sidewalk replacement, installation or upgrade of sidewalk curb ramps, replacement of traffic pavement markings, and adjustment and repair of manholes, catch basins, and water valve castings. The project also includes recommendations for lane reductions and parking regulation changes on Culver Road south of Norris Drive, bicycle accommodations, curb bump-outs at select locations, and other safety improvements throughout the project corridors. A pedestrian refuge island is proposed for the midblock crosswalk on Monroe Avenue at Werner Park.

Community Participation/Input:

A Preliminary Design Meeting was held on April 16, 2024 from 5:30 pm to 6:30 pm. This meeting was held at the Lake Riley Lodge located at 100 Norris Drive in Cobbs Hill Park.  The meeting handout, and the meeting presentation can be found below.
