News Release – City of Rochester Continues Free “RPO Around the Town” Ensemble Series July 18

(Monday July 17, 2023) – The City of Rochester and the Rochester Philharmonic Orchestra (RPO) will once again produce the free “Around the Town” concert series throughout the city this summer. The next concert takes place at 6:30 p.m. tomorrow, Tuesday, July 18 at the Park Avenue Green at the intersection of Park Avenue and Barrington Street.

“The RPO Around the Town concerts bring world-class, classical music right to your backyard. I’m proud to continue the City’s longstanding support of the RPO to provide these free, family-friendly, outdoor concerts,” said Mayor Malik D. Evans. “I encourage friends, families and neighbors to come out and experience some of the best of Rochester’s musical talent.” 

The free concerts run every Tuesday at 6:30 p.m. through Aug. 1. Attendees are encouraged to bring their own chair or a blanket. These concerts are made possible by generous sponsors, including the Susan B. Anthony Neighborhood Association, the Park Avenue Neighbors and Park Avenue Merchants Association, the Joseph Avenue Arts and Culture Alliance, and the Maplewood Neighborhood Association.

The full schedule of 6:30 p.m. concerts is as follows:

  • Tuesday, July 18: Southeast Neighborhood, Park Avenue Green (Park & Barrington).
  • Tuesday, July 25: Southwest Neighborhood, Susan B. Anthony Square, 31 Madison St.
  • Tuesday, Aug. 1: Northeast Neighborhood, Northeast Quadrant Neighborhood Service Center lawn, 500 Norton St.
