Tennis Anyone? Try the Adult Tennis Program

Adult Tennis Program offers recreation-and rapport

Get into the swing of things with The City of Rochester Bureau of Recreation's Adult Tennis program at beautiful Cobbs Hill and Genesee Valley Parks! This program teaches tennis, but offers camaraderie as well. Teacher and organizer Curtis Carter tells the story of a man from overseas on temporary work assignment who found fun and friends far from home through the City's Adult Tennis Program!

2014 Lesson Sessions 

Each session is eight ninety-minute lessons.
There is a fee of $96 per session. 
Session 1 June 2 to June 29
Session 2 June 30 to July 27
Session 3 July 28 to Aug. 24
Session 4 Sept. 2 to Sept. 29  

Levels, days and times offered each session  

Beginner Level: Monday and Wednesday or Tuesday and Thursday each week, 10 to 11:30 a.m.
Monday and Wednesday or Tuesday and Thursday each week, 5:30 to 7 p.m.
Beginner/Intermediate: Saturday and Sunday each week, 10 to 11:30 a.m.
Intermediate/Advanced:   Monday and Wednesday or Tuesday and Thursday, 7 to 8:30 p.m.

Beginners Tennis Crash Course

Bone-up on your swing and get ready for summer. Get in on a three day course to learn the basics of tennis. Classes will be held May 20- May 22 at Genesee Valley Park and May 27-May 29 at Cobbs Hill Park. All classes run from 6 to 7p.m. Only $30 per-person.


Pre-registration and pre-payment is required.  Download/print the information and registration form and send with check, made out to City Treasurer, to Bureau of Recreation, 400 Dewey Ave., Rochester 14613.  

Get a Bus to the Courts

Use the Rochester-Genesee Regional Transportation Authority's Google Trip Planner to get a bus to the courts (Cobbs Hill or Genesee Valley Park)
