News Release

(Thursday, Aug. 12, 2010) – Registration has begun for the 2010 After-School Program in the Park at Cobbs Hill Park. Youth ages 6-13 can enjoy after-school time taking part in an array of activities at the Lake Riley Lodge in Cobbs Hill Park (Culver Road and Norris Drive). The program runs from Sept. 7, 2010 through June 24, 2011, from 2 to 6:30 p.m. each school weekday and costs $55 per week; $45 per week for siblings. During school recesses, youth receive all-day care for $115 per week. City residents will be given priority enrollment and if additional openings are available, non-city residents may enroll at double the cost.

This popular and affordable program fills quickly and residents are encouraged to sign up as soon as possible. Features and benefits of the program include:

• school bus drop-off (must be arranged directly with the child’s school–drop off only); • extended hours (2 to 6:30 p.m.) with no wrap-around fee; • fitness and arts activities; • healthy snacks and hot meals; • homework help; • field trips; • friendly, trained staff; • great location in one of Rochester’s finest parks and park lodges; • winter and spring break availability.

City Recreation Bureau staff will conduct an open house and in-person registration at the Lake Riley Lodge, Wednesday, Aug. 25 from 6 to 8 p.m. Visitors can see the lodge and park, learn about the program and activities, meet staff and register.
