City of Rochester
(Monday, March 13, 2017) – Mayor Lovely A. Warren and members of the Rochester Coalition for Neighborhood Living announced details today for the second annual Five Star Bank Celebrate City Living Housing Expo, to be held from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, April 1 at City Hall, 30 Church St. Free parking is available in the Sister Cities garage, located across the street from City Hall.
“Celebrate City Living is your one-stop-shop for the information you need to find the perfect home in the perfect Rochester neighborhood,” said Mayor Warren. “People who know why Rochester is a wonderful place to live can become active partners in our mission to create more jobs, safer, more vibrant neighborhoods and provide all of our children with a quality education. I want to thank the Rochester Coalition for Neighborhood Living and all of our sponsors for creating this exciting opportunity to Celebrate City Living.”
"Five Star Bank is proud to sponsor Celebrate City Living to help promote our Rochester neighborhoods and highlight all the city has to offer,” said Charles J. Guarino, Senior Vice President and Retail Banking Executive, Five Star Bank. “Whether looking to purchase a home or relocate and rent, the Celebrate City Living program offers a wealth of information to help anyone.” The Five Star Bank Celebrate City Living Housing Expo will serve as a resource fair, where home hunters can meet representatives of each neighborhood along with Realtors, lenders and non-profit agencies who specialize in serving city customers.
In addition, the Landmark Society of Western New York will sponsor bus tours of city neighborhoods. Tour depart from City Hall at 10:30 a.m. and 1 p.m. and last approximately two hours. Advance registration is encouraged for the bus tours as seating is limited. Visit www.CelebrateCityLiving.com to register for a tour.
The Housing Expo is a component of the larger Celebrate City Living program, which is a year-round program designed to encourage city residency for consumers at every stage of the housing search, including renters, first-time homebuyers, experienced owners, those who require financial assistance and those seeking high-end, luxury spaces.
Additionally, on Sunday, April 2, open houses will be held at many available city properties.
Celebrate City Living places a special emphasis on the distinctive settings and wide variety of housing choices in each of Rochester’s neighborhoods. The goal is to help consumers to quickly focus their search for an ideal home by learning about the characteristics and amenities of each neighborhood. The website, www.CelebrateCityLiving.com, helps households search city neighborhoods for a house or apartment and connect them to available resources, including REALTORS®, lenders, and non-profit agencies that specialize in city housing. The site features a custom search engine that filters available housing choices by neighborhood along with profiles of each of the neighborhoods as well as an interactive social media center that enables residents and merchants to submit events to a community calendar.
The Rochester Coalition for Neighborhood Living members are: The City of Rochester; M&T Bank; New2U Homes; Citizens Bank; Game Plan Marketing; The Greater Rochester Association of REALTORS®; The Housing Council at PathStone; The Landmark Society of Western New York; NeighborWorks® Rochester; and Roc City Realty.
