Tonight’s meeting of the Rochester Environmental Commission has been cancelled due to inclement weather. The meeting was scheduled to start tonight at 5:30 p.m. at City Hall.
Police Chief David Moore has advised me that he has withdrawn as a candidate for Police Chief of Albany, New York. The Chief said he would like to remain as Rochester’s police chief for the foreseeable future and he has my full support. I would never stand in the way of a career move or a better offer for any of my appointments. With the lowest rate of violent crime in 25 years in our city, it is not a surprise to me that the Chief would be presented with other opportunities. I am pleased that Chief Moore is staying on with the City and he has my full support in our shared goal of driving down crime and homicide rates even lower in 2010.
