City Council Redistricting 2022
What is redistricting?
Redistricting is the process of redrawing the City Council's four district lines that City Councilmembers are elected to serve. Changes are determined by the data collected in the US Census conducted every 10 years. Redistricting is a great opportunity to ensure District maps reflect the City of Rochester in a fair and equitable way. An overview of the process can be found here.
What are the current City Council districts?
A detailed map with population data can be found here.
In partnership with the League of Women Voters of the Metropolitan Rochester Area, City Council held 2 public input sessions this fall & published an online survey regarding the current districts, and asked the community what they want to see change. A report detailing this public engagement and outlining the feedback received can be found here: Redistricting Process Report and historical records of past redistricting process here: Historical Archives - Redistricting
