The City offers a wide array of aquatic amenities and programs, including beaches, an Olympic-sized outdoor pool, several spray-play areas and year-round indoor pools. Programs include swim and boating lessons, organized water sports and parent-and-child events.

Adult Water Fitness
A no-impact, high-intensity water exercise class which promotes cardiovascular endurance, core strength and full range of motion. The winter session offers classes on most Monday evenings and Friday morning from Jan 13 through Apr 28 at the at the Adams Street R-Center, 85 Adams St., and the Trenton and Pamela Jackson R-Center, 485 N. Winter Youth Swim Lesson
The City of Rochester offers Red Cross Levels 1-6
Fall swim lessons will begin on January 25, 2025 at Adams & Jackson R-Center: Online registrations through R-Central.
During their swim lessons, children will spend time on the following six levels:
- Level 1: Introduction to Water Skills: Students will learn how to feel comfortable in the water and safely enjoy it.
- Level 2: Fundamentals of Aquatic Skills: Children will learn basic swimming skills.
- Level 3: Stroke Development: Additional guided practice will help students improve their skills.
- Level 4: Stroke Improvement: Kids will gain confidence during swim lessons, improve their stroke and gain additional aquatic skills.
- Level 5: Stroke Refinement: Guidance allows kids to refine their strokes and become more efficient swimmers.
- Level 6: Swimming and Skill Proficiency: Students will learn to swim with ease and efficiency, and gain the ability to swim smoothly over greater distances.

Spray Parks-Closed for the Season
The City of Rochester operates seven spray parks and three parks with spray features to help keep residents cool on the hottest days.

- Durand Eastman Beach (City of Rochester) Swimming is permitted in a life-guarded area (Lot A) during open hours only.
- Ontario Beach Park (Monroe County)
