What are my payment options?

When making payments to the City of Rochester, customers have the following options:

City website

Use the City's secure, Online Payment Portal to make payments on tax bills, water bills, commercial refuse bills, parking violations, and more.

Bill-pay through your personal bank 

This payment method is acceptable for tax, water, and parking payments only.

Use your personal bank's bill-pay function as an alternative to the City's payment portal.

Note: If the instructions are not followed carefully, your payment may not be completed electronically, resulting in delays in processing.           

In-person

Visit the cashier window at City Hall, 30 Church Street, Rochester, NY 14614. Hours of operation are Monday through Friday, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Through the mail

Send your payment to the return address listed on your bill.   

If paying by check, make the check payable to the City Treasurer and be sure to include property/account information on the memo line. 

Disclosure: A charge of $20 shall be imposed for each dishonored check, e-check, or other tendered payment submitted to the City of Rochester in accordance with the City Charter §8-23.
