RPD: Police Citizen Interaction Committee (PCIC)

What is PCIC?

The Police Citizen Interaction Committee (PCIC) are monthly meetings, or in the case of the Rochester Police Chief's PCIC, bi-monthly meetings. Each Section's police Captain convenes the meetings, attended by Section staff and representatives from various neighborhoods groups within the Section.

Topics of discussion may include crime patterns, quality of life issues, environmental concerns, problem locations and crime statistics. Meetings are intended to be interactive, where everyone is encouraged to participate in an open dialogue. In the case of the Chief’s PCIC, the format is similar and representatives from various neighborhood groups throughout the city are invited.

Information on Departmental projects are introduced or updated with the expectation that attending neighborhood group members will take the information back to their respective organizations.
