Deadline approaching for ArtsBloom funding
Mayor Malik D. Evans announced a new round of funding for arts programming and art projects through the City’s ArtsBloom program. Local artists and small arts organizations are encouraged to submit their ideas for consideration.
“I love seeing artwork on display throughout the city,” said Mayor Malik D. Evans. “Public art plays a vital role in enhancing our environment and strengthening our sense of community. I encourage anyone who has a creative idea that needs funding to submit it to ArtsBloom for consideration and take advantage of this opportunity to bring your project to life.”
To qualify for an ArtsBloom grant, programming or projects must fall into one or more of four categories: arts education, literary arts, performing arts and/or visual arts. Three funding options are available, and the project must be located within city limits. Total funding for 2025 is set at $100,000. The deadline for submission is 11:59 p.m. on Sunday, May 11, 2025.

In its first two years, ArtsBloom sponsored or co-sponsored local projects and programs in dance, literary arts, music, theater, and visual arts, with awards totaling $270,000. These awards helped 15 local arts organizations offer free cultural events, art exhibitions, printed works, performances and much more. An estimated five thousand people were impacted by these events. These efforts are part of the City’s ongoing implementation of the Arts + Culture section of the Rochester 2034 Comprehensive Plan.
The City will respond to questions submitted via email by 11:59 p.m. on Sunday, April 20, 2025 to Heather Anderson at heather.anderson@cityofrochester.gov.
