Mayor Evans announces DES leadership change

Mayor Malik D. Evans announced today that Department of Environmental Services (DES) Commissioner Richard Perrin has decided to leave his City position to pursue other opportunities. His last day will be Friday, Nov. 15.

“I thank Rich for his dedication and expertise over the past nearly three years,” said Mayor Evans. “Under his leadership, the Department of Environmental Services has completed several important initiatives.”

Commissioner Perrin started in his role with the City of Rochester on Jan. 1, 2022, and was confirmed by City Council on Jan. 18, 2022. 

DES Deputy Commissioner Kabutey Ocansey will lead the department as Acting Commissioner until a new Commissioner is named.
