ROC The Block Employment Fairs

ROC the Block is a community-based hiring initiative that brings businesses and recruiters to the city's four quadrants throughout the summer and early fall. With this fun, local, block-party styled event, Rochester employers and residents can meet to discover employment opportunities.

Meeting of the Minds 

Meeting of the Minds is an opportunity for the Workforce Development Community organizations to come together and discuss the current state of the workforce, challenges and successes. Flower City AmeriCorps is designed to inspire and prepare the next wave of human service and public health professionals. Gain the skills and experiences needed to begin your career. Commit to a year of service in Rochester.

Benefits Of Service

  • Biweekly living allowance up to $17,600 annually (estimated, pre-taxed)
  • Segal AmeriCorps Education Award of $6,345 upon completion of program
  • National service forbearance on qualified student loans
  • Individual health insurance
  • Childcare subsidy (if eligible) for dependents 12 and under
  • Living allowance not taken into consideration when determining SNAP eligibility
