Electric Vehicle Charging Stations
The City of Rochester installed thirty-six charging ports in City parking lots and garages to accelerate the introduction of electric vehicle (EV) and plug-in hybrid electric vehicle (PHEV) charging stations throughout the city and to promote the adoption of EVs and PHEVs by the public. The stations were funded with grants from the New York State Department of Environmental Conservation (NYSDEC) and the New York State Energy Research and Development Authority (NYSERDA).
How it works
City of Rochester charging stations are accessed through the ChargePoint or EV Connect networks. Visit www.chargepoint.com or www.evconnect.com for complete instructions and tech support.
The basic steps are:
- Access the charging station with a ChargePoint or EV Connect card or smartphone app, or call the customer service number posted on the station
- Once access has been granted through ChargePoint or EV Connect, plug in your EV or PHEV
- ChargePoint or EV Connect will notify you via text message or email when your vehicle is done charging
Remember:
Normal parking rules and fees apply to charging station-designated parking spaces. See the lot or garage page (listed below) for details.
