Stephen Domfeh
Business Data Analyst, Architect, Greenlight Networks
Stephen is a Business Data Analyst and Data Architect at Greenlight Networks with over six years of experience in data integration, visualization, and business intelligence. He specializes in designing reporting frameworks, improving data integrity, and creating actionable insights that drive organizational success. His passion lies in solving complex problems, streamlining operations, and delivering meaningful results for both his organization and its customers.
Stephen thrives on bridging gaps between raw data and impactful insights, building reporting systems that empower informed decision-making and measure success through KPIs. His work includes designing data pipelines, improving reporting systems, and creating mechanisms to flag errors, such as identifying billing inconsistencies.
Beyond his career, Stephen enjoys exploring cultural destinations like Madeira, Portugal, as well as reading and discovering new ideas through books.
Waymon Daniels
Lead Outreach, Rise Up Rochester
Waymon Daniels is a professional speaker, and also works with Rise Up Rochester as a Lead Outreach worker that has worked with at risk youth for the last ten years.
Waymon also works with the G.I.V.E program with Parole and Probation, he truly believes his skillset and experience will be an asset for our youth and this awesome mentoring program.
CaTyra Polland
CEO/Founder, Love for Words
CaTyra Polland is the founder and CEO of Love for Words (an MWBE editing and copywriting company). CaTyra serves as a guide and mentor to each client. She is an award-winning entrepreneur, freelance editor, creator, poet, and international speaker. She recently received the Urban League of Rochester Legacy Award.
CaTyra has innovated the following projects and initiatives:

CaTyra enjoys thrift shopping, traveling, hosting events, and visiting museums in her free time. CaTyra’s mission is to promote literacy, empower others, and see her wildest dreams come to fruition.
Yaide Valdez
College Access & Success Vista, Rochester Education Foundation
Yaide Valdez (she/her/hers/ella) is a first-generation graduate from the University at Buffalo, where she majored in Political Science with a minor in Education Leadership and Policy. She is now a graduate student at the University of Rochester's Warner School of Education, working towards a Master's in Education Policy with an advanced certification in Program Evaluation.
Yaide’s passion lies in Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion-Justice, and she is on a mission to integrate these principles into educational policy. As someone who grew up in the city of Rochester, Yaide is dedicated to ensuring that students from inner-city backgrounds have access to the same resources as their suburban peers, advocating for education reform to provide a more equitable education for urban school students. She dreams of a future where education serves as a beacon of equity for everyone and is actively working to make that vision a reality.
Jasmine Noble
Coach/Substitute teacher, RCSD
Jasmine Noble is currently a substitute teacher in the RCSD. She is the assistant girls' varsity basketball coach at Monroe High School and the girls modified volleyball coach at Young Women's College Prep. She owns a cleaning service where she works with Teen Empowerment as well as other residential and commercial places.

Ebony Nicole Smith
Owner/Founder, Ebony Nicole Smith Counsulting, LLC
Ebony Nicole owns Ebony Nicole Smith Consulting, LLC, a boutique writing and publishing company specializing in producing books written by Christian women. Since forming her business in 2016, she has guided over 500 aspiring authors down the path of authorship. Having published 75 authors up and down the East Coast, she plans to expand her reach across the US by the end of December 2026. Ebony Nicole, or Coach as her clients refer to her, has published over 13 titles of her own under her publishing company, Phnixx Vast Publishing. With 20+ storylines, journals, and workbooks on the horizon, Coach doesn't plan to retire from the writing and publishing industry soon.
In addition to being a writing coach and publisher, Ebony Nicole is an award-winning business owner, transformational speaker, keynote speaker, workshop facilitator, and panelist.

Phil Hounshel
Director of College Access and Success Programs, Rochester Education Foundation
Over the last 9 years, Phil Hounshell has been blessed to work within various facets of education. Beginning in the classroom as a substitute, teacher’s assistant, and a full time ELA teacher, he quickly learned that he had more of a passion to get to know the students and families he was educating. The relationships Phil built with them as well as his colleagues allowed him to learn and grow both personally and professionally. He gained skills and certifications that allowed him to become a college counselor. Mentoring people on the possibilities of what options they have after high school. With the support of his family, Phil has recently been able to expand that work and collaborate with other organizations, community partners, and education professionals who share similar goals. He believes that we are all more powerful when we come together.

Rashad Scott
CEO/Creative Director, Cinevize
Rashad A. Scott is a passionate visual storyteller and dedicated mentor with a deep commitment to the community in Rochester. As the CEO of Cinevize, LLC, he leverages the power of videography and photography to help local businesses and non-profits share their stories and connect with their audiences.
Beyond his work at Cinevize, he has spent years mentoring students at School Without Walls and through independent programs, guiding them in media production and helping them discover their creative potential. He believes in the power of education and collaboration and is always eager to share his knowledge and experience to help others grow. He's also an active member of the Rochester Democratic Committee and has been involved in impactful community initiatives like Operation GO and the Distinguished Gentleman program.

Hayden Daniel
Social studies and global history teacher, East Rochester Union Free School District
Daniel Hayden is an educator with experience focusing on inquiry-based lessons for diverse learners, including ELL and special education students. His background includes K-12 full time teaching, substitute teaching, summer STEM programs, and a strong emphasis on enhancing student literacy and math skills. As a community member, Daniel worked on initiatives to improve students' access to essential resources. A summa cum laude graduate of the University at Buffalo, he is dedicated to empowering students and supporting equitable educational opportunities.

Khue Nguyen
Human subject research specialist, University of Rochester
Khue Nguyen is a Human Subject Research Specialist at the University of Rochester. In this role, she assists in conducting neurological research studies by coordinating subject recruitment, conducting patient interviews, and programming and implementing surveys, etc. Additionally, she may assist in grant applications, prepare study proposals, and generate milestone reports for sponsors. Khue disseminates translational research findings through abstracts, presentations, and publications, while staying informed of industry standards, best practices, and trends in neurologic research, ensuring continuous learning and professional development.
Jaime Smith
Senior communications assistant, RCSD
Jaime Smith is a marketing and communications professional with experience in education, non-profits, and the music industry. Born and raised in Rochester, New York, Jaime's early passion for music and business led to an extraordinary start when, at age 15, he penned a letter to jazz legend Blossom Dearie that launched a career guiding her record label.
Jaime has held progressive roles at a local community college, where he directed marketing efforts for auxiliary units and directed the school’s social media presence. He currently serves as a Senior Communications Assistant with the Rochester City School District, where he crafts content that celebrates student and school achievements.
Jaime’s career reflects his commitment to empowering organizations and individuals to share their stories with impact. His work has been featured by CBS, The Boston Globe, and Universal Music Group, and has earned recognition from the American Marketing Association as well as Grammy® consideration.
Alfred Burgos
Founder and President, BURGOS Income Tax, Inc.
Alfred Burgos is a first born in Rochester of parents that immigrated from the island of Puerto Rico in 1954. He was raised in the inner City of Rochester attending Rochester City Schools, graduating from Ben Franklin High School. He received a Bachelor of Science Degree from Brockport College in 1984. Alfred retired from General Motors and founded Burgos Income Tax in 1991. He is married with 3 adult children and 10 grandchildren. He was the Hispanic Businessperson of the year in 2005 and received the Business Journal Icon Award in 2022. He is also an active volunteer with the Puerto Rican Festival and has been since 2005.
Gerald Moore
CEO, Mission Fulfilled 2023
Gerald A. Moore Sr., CEO of Mission Fulfilled 2030, is a proud Rochester native and Edison Tech HS alum. Gerald was an All-Greater Rochester Football Player before earning his Electronics Engineering Technology degree from Norfolk State University. He is the author of Motivate Black Boys, a motivational speaker, and brings over 25 years of mentoring experience, with a cybersecurity career spanning over 20 years as a federal government contractor. Through Mission Fulfilled 2030, which has impacted over 8,000 young men nationwide, Gerald launched the Technology and Innovation Center for Black Boys in downtown Rochester in 2024, dedicated to closing the opportunity gap in Tech and STEM and creating pathways to success for young Black men and boys across the country.
Keilannie Guzman
ASPIRA Mentor, IBERO American Action League
Keilannie Guzman serves as an ASPIRA Mentor at Eugenio Maria de Hostos Charter School. Her team emphasizes three key pillars: academics, social and emotional learning, and improving attendance rates. Additionally, they develop programs like the S.O.L. (Strengthening Our Latinos) Dance Program, which Keilannie facilitates, along with the Aspira Arena Programming led by her colleague. Many of her mentees gain valuable life skills and contribute positively to their communities. Additionally, as ASPIRA Mentors, Keilannie offers informational resources to support families of our mentees who may require assistance.
Randall Ellis
Youth Advocate, Hillside Work Scholarship Connection
Ellis Randall is a Youth Advocate Mentor for Hillside Work Scholarship Connection at Wilson High School. He is also the Head Varsity Football coach for Wilson over the Junior behaviors, social interaction, college readiness and careers. He is particularly proud of being a graduate of African American Leadership Development Program Class of 2009 and being cancer free for four years!
Mateo Luis
Mentor, IBERO American Action League
Luis Mateo currently serves as a mentor in the Aspira program at Eugenio Maria de Hostos Middle School. Throughout his career, Luis has been dedicated to supporting and engaging with youth, whether through empowering activities and games or helping with academic tasks. With a bachelor's degree in Psychology and Community Youth Development from Nazareth College, he has transitioned from a focus on diagnosis to fostering positive engagement and skill development.
As Luis advances in his career, he is excited to explore new opportunities to benefit our community, hosting impactful events and creating enriching spaces. He looks forward to partnering with other dedicated youth workers to uplift and enhance the communities we serve.
Wendy Vera
Board secretary, Latinas Unidas
Wendy M. Vera was born and raised in Ecuador. She immigrated to the United States at the age of nineteen. After residing in New York City for some time, she relocated to Rochester, NY, where she currently lives with her husband, son, and two beloved dogs.
Wendy is in her fifth year of pursuing a PhD in Spanish American Literature at the University at Buffalo, where she also serves as a Spanish instructor. Her academic research focuses on indigenous women writers.
In addition to her academic responsibilities, Wendy is actively involved in her community. She serves as the board secretary of Latinas Unidas, an organization dedicated to empowering and uniting Latina women. Recently, she participated in the University at Buffalo "Social Impact Fellowship", a project aimed at connecting non-profit organizations with students to develop innovative solutions that enhance community engagement.
Michelle Woody
Associate of Strategic Partnerships, Simon Business School
Michelle is a 1st-year Full-time MBA student at the University of Rochester's Simon Business School. Her professional experience spans entrepreneurship, professional staffing, automotive, and e-commerce sectors. This includes being a Founder of Your Small Business Consultant LLC and managing large operations at notable brands like Enterprise Rent-A-Car and Robert Half Talent Solutions in Los Angeles and Orange County, California.
Pursuing her STEM designated MBA is enriched by fellowships with esteemed organizations like Reaching Out MBA, the Forté Foundation, the Consortium for Graduate Study in Management, Prospanica, and the Marilyn & Michael Rosen Endowed Scholarship.
She enjoys serving on the United Way OCs E-mentorship Program and Queer Scouts Boards. In her free time, you will find her training for competitive dragon boat and Hawaiian outrigger canoe races on the Genessee River.
Aisha Mills-Courtwright
Quality Assurance Training Specialist, Maximus
Aisha is a dynamic Quality Assurance Training Specialist for the New York Independent Assessors Project (NYIAP) where she ensures the highest standards in healthcare assessments and program delivery. With over 20 years of clinical experience and five years in Clinical Education, Aisha joined Maximus in 2021 where she has been instrumental in enhancing training programs, ensuring quality compliance, and driving Clinical Excellence. In 2023, Aisha obtained her Crucial Conversations Facilitator certification and now regularly leads impactful, pivotal, transformative discussions that improve team dynamics and patient outcomes. Her enthusiasm for mentoring and empowering learners—students and professionals—shines through in all her endeavors. Outside of work, Aisha enjoys cooking, baking, and community service projects.
Stefano Napolitano
Fire Chief, Rochester Fire Department
Chief Stefano (Steve) Napolitano is a 39-year veteran of the fire service. He is currently the Fire Chief of the Rochester (NY) Fire Department. He joined the Rochester Fire Department as Chief on September 11, 2023. Prior to this he served the New York State Office of Fire Prevention and Control as Deputy State Fire Administrator.
Steve began in the fire service in 1986 as a volunteer Firefighter for the Village of Frankfort, NY. He served until 1991 when he was hired by the Herkimer (NY) Fire Department. In 2017 Steve joined the City of Batavia Fire Department as Fire Chief until July 2021.
He is a New York State Fire Instructor, teaching outreach classes and teaching at the New York State Academy of Fire Science. At the NYSAFS he works with Recruit Firefighter Training, Fire and Emergence Service Instructor and Fire Officer Programs.
Steve holds degrees in Mechanical Engineering, Fire Protection Technology and a master's degree in Executive Fire Service Leadership.
Elizabeth Maldonado
Assistant Deputy Superintendent, NYSDOCCS
Elizabeth Maldonado is an Assistant Deputy Superintendent for the New York State Department of Corrections and Community Supervision. Prior to NYSDOCCS she worked for many years in the Rochester community providing Social Work services to various local entities. Elizabeth received her B.S. in Social Work from Nazareth College.
She began her career in Corrections as the first Family Ties Coordinator at Albion Correctional Facility where she developed a Parenting Class curriculum and facilitated programs that assisted incarcerated mothers stay connected with their children; her work was featured in various media outlets. During her time in NYSDOCCS she developed an interest in Law Enforcement and served many years as a Parole Officer then assigned to Investigator for The Office of Special Investigations where she became a Certified Inspector General through NYC John Jay College, earning numerous commendations and certificates of appreciation for her commitment and dedication.
Morgan Nelis
Graduate Assistant, Server, Tasting Room Lead, Social Work Intern
Morgan is a graduate student, community member, and advocate. She moved to Rochester in 2021 after graduating from Hobart and William Smith Colleges. Fresh out of college, she worked at Fleet Feet Rochester for two years prior to going back to school for a master's degree in social work. She is passionate about aquatics, nature, trauma informed care, and the beautiful history that Rochester has to offer. Morgan worked for the City of Rochester at the Genesee Valley Pool, Adam Street R-Center, and the Trenton and Pamela Jackson R-Center: where she taught swim lessons, lifeguarded, and taught the Red Cross Lifeguarding Course. Last year, she did an internship with Mary's Place Refugee Outreach, where she worked as a case manager. Morgan is currently interning with the Rochester City School District.
Hasan Abdul-Aziz
Content marketing and communications specialist, Catholic Charities Family and Community Services
Hasan Abdul-Aziz is an accomplished professional with extensive experience in Graphic Design, Web Design, Digital Marketing, Project Management, and Social Media Management. He holds a bachelor's degree in graphic design from The Art Institute of Pittsburgh and a Digital Marketing Certification from Monroe Community College. He has also completed leadership training through the United Way African American Leadership Development Program. He currently serves as Vice Polaris (President) of the Rochester Alumni Chapter of Iota Phi Theta Fraternity, Incorporated.
With a strong background in digital and website development, he consistently delivers innovative solutions and strategic initiatives that drive success and enhance digital presence. Hasan’s expertise in managing complex projects and integrating digital technologies has made him an asset in any professional setting.
Ivy Caldwell

Basil C. Barrett
Director of Financial Services, Monroe County Finance
Basil C. Barrett grew up in Brooklyn, New York and graduated valedictorian from his high school. He holds an MBA from the William E. Simon Graduate School of Business, a M.S. in Mechanical Engineering from Rochester Institute of Technology and a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute.
He is the Director of Financial Services for Monroe County ensuring fiscal management and oversight in Treasury, Purchasing & Central Services, Real Property Tax Services and Internal Audit. His career began with Xerox Corporation, where he spent 29 ½ years in technology development, engineering, manufacturing, business, strategy and finance.
Basil is involved in the community with Big Brothers Big Sisters as a mentor and a Junior Achievement volunteer. He is also a math and physics professor.
He has been married to Melissa L. Barrett for nearly 30 years, and they are the proud parents of two adult children.
Nicolle Haynes
Executive Director of MTSS: Equity-driven Learning & Supports, RCSD
Nicolle L. Haynes is the Executive Director of the Department of MTSS: Equity-driven Learning and Supports for the RCSD. Responsible for implementing & supervising coaching for departments and schools on building a multitiered system of support (MTSS) to help our students thrive. She started her career in the RCSD as a mathematics teacher and over 30 years served in a variety of positions, Principal, Executive Director, Director, Assistant Director in Teaching and Learning, Bilingual/ESL Accountability, Parent Engagement, Early Childhood, and K-8 alternative education programs.
Ms. Haynes has a bachelor’s degree in applied mathematics, a master’s degrees in math education, strategic leadership, and educational administration, and has completed studies toward a doctorate degree (ABD, May 2026) in executive leadership from Manhattanville University. Ms. Haynes is the proud parent of three RCSD School of the Arts graduates.
Chris Kight
Data and Digital Services Manager, City of Rochester
With extensive experience across public and private sectors, Chris currently leads Rochester’s Data & Digital Services team, overseeing data governance, GIS, application development, and digital solutions to enhance transparency and decision-making for over 200,000 residents. His team’s initiatives include the Beacon Data Service for vacant properties and a Data Literacy curriculum, supporting data-informed city operations. Previously, Chris managed IT for American Food & Vending, directing POS integrations and strategic tech deployments, and led IT infrastructure projects at The Widewaters Group. In the U.S. Navy, he earned commendations overseeing communication systems and optimizing tech resources, with a focus on team development and innovative solutions.
Shelby Boyd
Founder/CEO, Jsay Strategy Solutions
Shelby Boyd is a high school English Language Arts Teacher, freelance writer, and educational consultant who is creating programs and content that spans education, culture, and personal development. Her mission is to turn youth potential into performance!
Jeremy Smith
Executive Director, Freedom Scholars Learning Center
Jeremy Smith was born and raised in Rochester, NY, and has served as the Executive Director of Freedom Scholars Learning Center since 2020. Having been involved with Freedom Schools since 2007, Jeremy’s focus in his work has been on teaching and mentoring youth, centered on his belief that teaching is a humanizing relationship where educators and students learn from one another. Jeremy connects to the experiences, traumas, and funds of knowledge of scholars and brings recognition and value to what each child has to offer.
Julius Porter
Northeast team lead member, Flower City Americorps
Julius Porter has been an advocate in this community since he was 9 years old, he has worked with some of the Mayors of Rochester and some of the city officials in the city. Julius is now working with Flower City Americorps and the Urban League. He works with many organizations including Respect Rochester, Roc the Block, and Family Voice to help make Rochester a better place. He enjoys watching our city blossom, starting with planting seeds in the youth.
Kelvin Knight Sr.
Assistant Administrator, City of Rochester
Kelvin Knight is a Rochester native and local Public Health and STEM Advocate. He graduated from and is an active alumnus of the Urban Suburban Inter District Transfer Program. Kelvin is a lifelong learner and an alumnus of both the University of Rochester (B.A.) and University of Illinois (MPH). Kelvin has traveled the U.S. and the world expanding his understanding of diverse cultures and people. Kelvin has coached and mentored local Pop Warner Football teams. He has created and coordinated many local health fairs, bicycle rodeos, and bicycle giveaways. He is also a servant-leader and works diligently to share his life experiences with local youth to encourage each to physically thrive and academically achieve.
Benjamin Hart

Roslyn Mosley has a master's degree in organizational leadership and a bachelor's degree in Sociology with a focus area of Community and Cultural Studies. Roslyn currently works for Nazareth University as the Assistant Director of Community Engagement and Career Services. She also teaches classes that includes Youth Development with the focus of building positive youth relationships that promotes youth voice and youth choice. She is on the Bonner Leadership Scholarship Selection Committee for incoming freshmen students. Just this past fall 2023, Roslyn completed the African American Leadership and Development Program.
JauQuema Jones
Pastor, Waging War Ministries
JauQuema Jones, a life strategist and ministry leader at Waging War Ministries, impacts lives by coaching success based on God's principles. She shares God's perspective on everyday life, emphasizing healing and ministry. Jones supports fellow pastors and leaders and balances ministry with a happy family life, raising four children with her husband. Additionally, she is pursuing a BS in Business Management and has published two books - "Fighting to Stay Current" and "Freedom To Flourish".
Keila Diaz
Owner/Baker/Decorator, Cake Lani LLC
Keila Diaz is the owner of Cake Lani LLC. She has been in business for 3+ years now and has worked in the baking field since 2016. It started as a hobby until passion took over and the ability to supply customers with beautiful cakes came easily and quickly. Since CakeLani started, Keila has attended seminars/career day events as a speaker to share her journey with her business. Those opportunities allowed Keila to speak with ages 11 and up. Keila has also hosted cake decorating classes and really enjoys teaching. Currently, she has a kitchen space where she preps cakes and cake cups and distributes them throughout Rochester.
Howard Grossman
Community Volunteer, Pearl Resources, Inc. (Talented Tenth)
Howard Grossman is a life-long Rochesterian and retired commercial law attorney. He was formerly in-house counsel with JPMorgan Chase and a partner at Woods, Oviatt, Gilman. Mr. Grossman also served as President of both the Jewish Community Center and Jewish Community Federation of Rochester and as a United Way Board Member. After retiring from the practice of law, he served as a co-founder and operating manager of Pencils & Paper, a no-cost school supply store for teachers at high-poverty schools in our community. Mr. Grossman currently serves as a mentor for the Talented Tenth program that serves young men of color in Rochester. He is also a fellow at the Center for Nonprofit Leadership at St John Fisher University.
Jess Friedman
MBD Student, Simon Business School
Jess Friedman is currently a 2nd year MBA Student at Simon Business School. Jess interned this past summer at Merck, a pharmaceautical company in New Jersey working in Human Health Finance. Previously, Jess worked as a Project Coordinator and Executive Assistant for a Tech Company in downtown Chicago.
Musco Millner III
Assistant Professor, Utica University
Musco Millner III is a doctoral student currently enrolled at the University at Albany studying Curriculum and Instruction, with a specialization in Mathematics Education. Musco is also an Assistant Professor of Criminal Justice and an Adjunct Faculty of Mathematics for Utica University. Before becoming a faculty member, Musco was the Director of Campus Safety for Utica University for four years. Musco is a retired Captain of the New York State Police, with his final assignment overseeing Leadership and Professional Development at the New York State Police Academy in Albany, New York. His career with the NYSP was extremely diverse with assignments in the Troop D Forensic Identification Unit, the Forensic Investigation Center (Crime Laboratory) in Albany, Technical Lieutenant in-charge of the Recruitment and Member Hiring Units, as well as spending some time in the Professional Standards Bureau (Internal Affairs). It should be noted that Musco is the first African American Member in the history of the New York State Police to be assigned to a Forensic Identification Unit. He is also a former Monroe County Deputy Sheriff.

Dr. Chastity Murray

Murray is the owner and lead practitioner of Murray's Consultation Services, LLC in Rochester and an Adjunct Professor at SUNY Geneseo. Charlton Harley

Charlton Harley, born and raised in Rochester, NY, began his distinguished military career by joining the U.S. Navy at 18, shortly after graduating high school in 1990. As an Interior Communications Technician aboard the USS Constellation, Charlton developed a passion for both technical expertise and leadership. After four years of honorable service, he transitioned to civilian life, only to return to the Navy Reserves in 2010. His commitment to service culminated in his promotion to Chief Petty Officer in 2022, a testament to his dedication and leadership. Dr. Rita Gaither has earned numerous educational degrees and certificates, including her Doctoral degree in Leadership and Counseling. She worked as a cutting-edge educator and ultimate community activist in the Rochester City School District and served as a valuable resource for the various deficits that exist within the school district. Dr. Gaither has spent over 35 years of unconditional support for children of color, making strides to close the educational gap and level the playing field through service to others. Michael Burns
Deputy Mayor, City of Rochester
Michael Burns is Deputy Mayor for the City of Rochester, a role he has held since January 1, 2024. Burns brings nearly 25 years of leadership experience to this role, including for the past two years serving as the City's Director of the Office of Management and Budget. He also currently serves as an adjunct professor at St. John Fisher University. Previously, he was Director of Accounting Services for Regional Transit Service and Vice President of Investor Relations and External Reporting for Harris Interactive. He received the Rochester Business Journal 2023 Financial Leaders Award and was recognized with a Forty Under 40 Award in 2006. Burns earned his CPA in 2000 and has a bachelor's degree in accounting from St. John Fisher College.
Maisha Beard Johnson

Maisha Beard is a Rochester pillar, accomplished poet and dynamic motivational speaker who has graced live and virtual stages as a keynote or panelist speaker. She is also a four-time published author, devout mother, ‘GaGa,’ and mentor. Also a retired cosmetologist and beauty business entrepreneur coach for nearly three decades, Maisha was well known for styling professional women including former Mayor Lovely A. Warren and Danielle Ponder. She then kicked off a career with the City of Rochester as an Urban Fellow/Graduate Intern at the Mayor’s Office. She was promoted to Associate Communications Assistant and on August 1, 2022, she was promoted to the Coordinator of Business and Asset Development position by Mayor Malik Evans and on January 1, 2024, Mayor Evans further promoted Maisha by adding Kiva Capital Access Manager to her role. These promotions are a testament to her excellence, determination and genuine love for serving the residents of Rochester.

Dr. Ana Gómez Parga

Dr. Ana Gómez Parga is the Director of Pathway Programs at the University of Rochester Medical Center. She is a communication and media scholar specializing in community relationships, process implementation, and educational programming. At the URMC, she designs and manages initiatives aimed at fostering diversity in healthcare and STEM-related fields. Dr. Gómez Parga’s work includes strategic planning, curriculum design, grant writing, fundraising, and the creation of programs aimed at serving underrepresented and economically disadvantaged students. These programs include science camps, enrichment programs, professional development workshops, and research and mentoring opportunities for students. Dr. Gómez Parga’s overall expertise is in developing and implementing inclusive policies, operational guidelines, and collaborative agreements to support the mission of access and equity in STEM education and the healthcare fields.

Justin Collins
Sergeant in Charge of Recruitment and Workforce Development, Rochester Police Department
Justin Collins has dedicated his career to serving the City of Rochester as a police officer and leader, with a focus on innovation, community engagement, and workforce development. Beginning his journey in patrol and the Tactical Unit, Justin gained invaluable experience working across all sections of the city. He later served as the Rochester Police Department’s Public Information Officer, fostering transparency and public trust.
Justin has successfully guided over 500 individuals into law enforcement careers across Monroe County, with many joining the Rochester Police Department. Justin founded and manages several pipeline programs, including the RPD Workforce Development Program, Future Force College Intern Program, and Early Hire Civilian-to-Sworn Program. In 2023, Justin and his team were honored with the City of Rochester Innovation Award for their collaborative work in enhancing recruitment strategies. He also oversees the Rochester Police Department’s Police Activities League, which has connected thousands of youth with over 100 officers over the past 13 years.
Justin holds a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from Roberts Wesleyan College and is pursuing a master’s degree in Law Enforcement and Public Safety Leadership from San Diego University, with anticipated graduation in summer 2025.
