In recognition of Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) Awareness Month, representatives from Common Ground Health will offer a presentation on generational trauma at the City’s Thursday Thinkers: Insights into Rochester discussion forum from 6 to 7:30 p.m., Thursday, June 20, at the Trenton and Pamela Jackson R-Center, 485 N. Clinton Ave.

Participants will learn about the intergenerational impacts of structural racism and cumulative trauma, how they affect our health and the health of our community, and what we can do about it. Alia Henton-Williams, Manager of the City’s Crisis Intervention Services Unit, which includes the Person in Crisis Team, will moderate the discussion.

Thursday Thinkers: Insights into Rochester is an adult-discussion forum offered in a designated City R-Center each month to help residents learn about community resources and programs, including the R-Center itself, that can help them lead successful lives. The Thursday Thinker theme for June is PTSD Awareness Month.
