Mayor’s Mentor Up Winter Gala: Application period now open

Mayor Malik D. Evans invites local mentors and youth ages 14-18 to participate

Mayor Malik D. Evans is inviting local professionals and youth ages 14–18 to participate in the Mayor’s Mentor Up Gala on Saturday, Dec. 14. 

The Mayor’s Mentor Up program is a dynamic initiative aimed at fostering enduring mentorship relationships between adult community role models and city youth ages 14-18. 

The deadline to apply to participate by Friday, Nov. 8.

“I’m very proud of the youth who have taken part in the Mentor Up program so far and I’m especially grateful to the mentors who have stepped up to support them,” said Mayor Evans. “With the upcoming Winter Gala, we will continue to foster an environment where youth and local professionals can get together to grow and learn from one another. We are working hard to spark relationships that will help our youth build safe, prosperous futures and give professionals an opportunity to give back."

The Mentor Up Winter Gala will be a formal, yet fun environment where young people can practice their networking skills with peers and leaders and form connections that could lead to natural mentor-mentee partnerships and potential career opportunities.
