City Hall, other administrative offices to close Monday, Jan. 15 in observance of Martin Luther King Jr. Day

Rochester City Hall, Neighborhood Service Centers, the Rochester Public Library, and other administrative offices will be closed on Monday, Jan. 15 in observance of Martin Luther King Jr. Day.

During the week of Jan. 15, refuse and recycling collection will be delayed by one day.

The City’s ice rinks at Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Memorial Park at Manhattan Square, 353 Court St., and the Genesee Valley Park Sports Complex, 131 Elmwood Ave., will be open Monday for normal hours.

Highland Park Reservoir boil water notice

Update

The boil water notice that had been in effect for a portion of Rochester following the discovery of a deceased individual within the Highland Park Reservoir has been lifted. 

Water quality tests have confirmed the safety of the water supply. Draining, cleaning and refilling of the Highland Park Reservoir will continue through the next few months.

Artists sought for City/County Arts & Culture Plan

The City of Rochester and Monroe County are seeking artists from underrepresented and underserved communities to serve on an Artist Engagement Team. The team will work to develop and implement community engagement strategies for an arts and culture plan for Rochester and Monroe County which will serve as the blueprint for investing in and improving the local creative ecosystem. The Rochester 2034 Comprehensive Plan identified an arts and culture plan as one of the actions to achieve the goal of supporting, growing, and sustaining the creative economy.
