The goal of Rochester Community University (RCU) is to help residents learn how to advocate for themselves and their neighborhoods. Participants attend a series of workshops that give them insight into City Hall and local resources that they can then use to address issues affecting them.

The After School In the Park (ASIP) program is the City's only Office of Children & Family Services certified school-age childcare program open to young people ages 6-12.
Located on the banks of the Genesee River in the southwest section of downtown, Corn Hill Landing is a fantastic scenic recreational area with something for everyone. It is nestled in the heart of Corn Hill, one of Rochester's most historically rich neighborhoods.
Located downtown just west of the Main Street Bridge, Aqueduct Park is a gorgeous green space on the bank of the Genesee River.
Aberdeen Square, located in the southwest quadrant's 19th Ward neighborhood, is a large grassy open space.
Browncroft Rose Garden, located in the city's northeast area, is a grassy space with a collection of antique rose varieties and a gazebo that allows you to sit back and take it all in.
In collaboration with the Mayor’s Youth Advisory Council, Youth Voice One Vision (YVOV), youth from the Urban Ecologist Program of the Seneca Park Zoo Foundation, and support from the Cities Connecting Children to Nature (CCCN) initiative, the City of Rochester adopted a Children’s Outdoor Bill.

Genesee Valley Park (GVP) is located along the eastern bank of the Genesee River within the City of Rochester. Enter the park from Elmwood Avenue at Wilson Boulevard, East River Road, or Crittenden Road.

Highland Park rests in a beautiful setting of hills and valleys created from glacial deposits. Expertly designed by Frederick Law Olmsted to seem like a natural occurrence of trees, shrubs and flowers, Highland Park is actually a completely planned--and planted--arboretum or "tree garden."
The Recreation on the Move mobile program brings the offerings and benefits of City R-Centers right to City parks and greenspaces. Through fun and engaging activities, the ROTM mobile team engages youth and families.
