Athletics and Sports Leagues

The City of Rochester offers youth and adults both organized and open sports programs and leagues at parks, R-Centers, the Genesee Valley Sports Complex, and the Rochester Community Sports Complex. Many of these facilities also feature cardio and strength fitness rooms which can be used for free by City of Rochester residents.

Citywide Programs and Leagues

Citywide offerings include both organized programs and leagues for youth and adults.

Adult Softball League 

The 2025 Summer Softball Leagues at Cobbs Hill will be accepting team registration beginning March 3, 2025 through R-Central.

The City of Rochester Department of Recreation and Human Services is set to kick off the Adult Softball Leagues at Cobb’s Hill Park. The 2025 season continues to bring new and exciting changes to the program, as the City of Rochester will begin to coordinate adult softball leagues. This year we will have Men's and Co-ed leagues. Monday, Wednesday, and Friday will be co-ed, and Tuesday and Thursday will be men's leagues. We will be limited to 18 teams per night. All payments and registration must go through R-Central  Registration opens March 3, 2025.  You can create an account at any time.

Soccer

Rochester City Soccer League offers top-notch training programs tailored specifically for soccer players who want to develop their skills in the off-season.  Rochester City Soccer offers recreation players (U5 -U23) an opportunity to receive additional training from the professional technical staff to complement their regularly scheduled team practices and games.  Sessions are divided up by age groups.  Register today

Swimming Team

The Rochester Rapids Swim Team is committed to developing a culture of life-long involvement in swimming by providing youth in and around the City of Rochester with the finest opportunities for competition and community involvement through the sport of swimming.  Visit Rochester Rapids for more information.

Youth Tennis

Love-15 is a FREE, six week group instructional program for Rochester City youth ages 7-17. The program is designed to teach tennis skills while developing values. Youth must be a City of Rochester resident to participate.  Registration is via the Monroe County YMCA

Adult Tennis 

Adult tennis is offered from June-September. Outdoor tennis lessons are offered at Cobbs Hill and Genesee Valley Park. We offer 4 separate sessions; June, July, August, and September. We have beginners to advanced lessons. Cost is $100 per session. For more information, visit the link (R-Central) at the top of the page.
