Homicide Response Team

Individuals experiencing crisis should call  585-428-1303 for information on the Homicide Response Team.

The Homicide Response (HRT) Team proactively addresses the traumatic impact that homicides have on grieving Rochester families through providing free wraparound services to victim(s) and their families with the goal of helping to achieve healing through support and planning.

The Homicide Response Team (HRT) is a collaborative team made up of individuals who have experienced the loss of family members by homicide and includes Crisis Services staff including a Social Worker, a Community Based organization and members of the Flower City Chaplains. We do our best to respond to every homicide scene that occurs in the City of Rochester to provide support, comfort and guidance to family members, friends and the community. The HRT works directly with the Major Crimes Unit at the scene and ongoing to make sure families receive answers to questions and information that can best support families during this traumatic time. We also work collectively with community partners to ensure families have the resources needed. The HRT will make sure your family has the important information for next steps and will connect you with a Community Support Team Counselor to provide needed services including helping your family apply for financial assistance for service arrangements (if eligible). For additional information, please contact Alia Henton-Williams at 585-428-1303 or
