City of Rochester to host Women’s Self-Defense Training Class
The City of Rochester is offering a Women’s Self-Defense Training Class on Saturday, December 14, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Adams Street R-Center, located at 85 Adams Street.
This empowering event is designed to equip women with essential self-defense skills using techniques from American Goshin Jujutsu.
Led by Dr. Kamae McNeill, a seasoned martial arts instructor with over 50 years of experience, participants will learn the principles of limb manipulation and pressure point application. These techniques make self-defense practical and effective for individuals of all sizes and strengths, turning confrontational scenarios into opportunities for safety and control.
Dr. McNeill, a Shihan Kudan (10th-degree black belt) and grandmaster, has dedicated his career to teaching martial arts. His expertise has benefited Rochester law enforcement, correctional officers, and community security teams. Dr. McNeill has also earned multiple world martial arts championships, further emphasizing the depth of his knowledge and commitment to empowering others.
The event is open to women interested in learning practical skills to protect themselves in various situations. No prior martial arts experience is necessary.
