Honoring Our City's Veterans: A special recognition event and exhibit

As we approach Veterans Day, it's time to celebrate the brave individuals who have served our nation and continue to serve our community. We're excited to announce a special event and exhibit dedicated to honoring City employees who are veterans of the U.S. Armed Forces.Mark your calendars for Friday, November 1, 2024, at 4 p.m. for our 2024 City-employee Veterans Recognition event at City Hall, 30 Church Street. Join us for refreshments and camaraderie as we pay tribute to our local heroes.This year, we're introducing a unique exhibit in City Hall's Link Gallery titled "From Service to Service: Honoring Our Veterans' Journeys from Military Service to Civil Service." This display will showcase the inspiring stories of City employees who have transitioned from military service to civil service, highlighting their continued commitment to our community.If you're a veteran and would like to participate in this exhibit, we invite you to share your story. Please fill out the form at https://forms.office.com/r/wPV3wLxh5s, where you'll be asked to provide:

  1. Your name
  2. A photo of yourself in active-duty gear
  3. A recent photo
  4. Details about your military service
  5. Information about your current role with the City of Rochester
  6. A brief response to one of four prompts about your service experience

Don't worry if you're camera-shy – all veterans are welcome to attend the event, regardless of whether you contribute to the exhibit.The deadline for submissions is Friday, October 18, 2024.
