Vision sensitivity workshop for City employees
As businesses strive to create more inclusive environments, it's essential to understand the needs of employees with disabilities.
On Friday, October 25, 2024, the Department of Human Resource Management will host a Vision Sensitivity Workshop in collaboration with the NYS Commission for the Blind. This interactive session will be held from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. AM at 107 Bridge View Drive, offering employers a unique opportunity to deepen their understanding of vision impairments and blindness.
The goal of this workshop is not only to offer a simulation of what it's like to live with visual impairments but also to inform employers about the resources available to assist individuals with these challenges. Attendees will learn about service animals, workplace accommodations, and best practices for ensuring that their environments are accessible to all.
