Statement by Mayor Evans regarding pause of federal funding

"I have been in regular communication with our local, state and federal partners in government as well as community leaders over the past week, working together in response to recent developments at the federal level.

I have grave concerns about the announcement regarding a freeze in federal funding, and the impact it will have both on the City of Rochester and on important nongovernmental organizations that rely on this funding to provide crucial services to our community.

It is imperative that the Federal government provide more specifics so we can determine the immediate effects of this temporary freeze in funding. We will continue to work with our partners, and will provide updates to the community as information becomes available."
