City departments responsible for code enforcement 

The municipal code contains numerous sections that are administered and enforced by various City departments. The following list identifies some of the major code sections and the departments that regularly oversee them.

Get the latest info on street sweeping using SweeperTrax!

SweeperTrax is a web-based map that is active during late spring, summer and early fall when street sweepers are in use. The web-based map is updated daily at the end of each day to show the progress of street sweepers.

Mount Hope's grounds are open to the public and visitors are welcome every day of the year.  Gates open at 7:30 am and closing times change seasonally.  Please check the web site or call (585) 428-7999 to inquire about current closing times.

Children under the age of 15 years are not permitted in the cemetery unless accompanied by a responsible adult.

The City of Rochester's Forestry Division is taking a proactive effort to protect Rochester’s urban forest from an invasive species called the Emerald Ash Borer.

Willie J. Lightfoot, Sr.

Willie J. Lightfoot, son of Theresa Thompson and the late Honorable Willie Walker Lightfoot, is a lifelong resident  of the city of Rochester and refers to himself as "homegrown".  A 12-year veteran of the United States Air Force, Lightfoot was deployed to Desert Storm and Enduring Freedom operations while serving in the armed forces.  He is a retired City of Rochester firefighter.

This project includes the realignment of River Street from the CSX crossing to the existing 90 degree bend at 530 River Street, as the final phase of the River Street Extension Project. The project includes, but is not limited to: full-depth pavement, new granite curbs, new catch basins with lateral connections, new shared-use sidewalk (Genesee River Trail connector), new driveway access, new City-owned street lighting system, and streetscape improvements.
