Environmental Impact Statement - East Avenue Wegmans
Introduction
The Final Environmental Impact Statement (FEIS) has been completed and accepted by the Manager of Zoning, as lead agency. The FEIS presents a revised plan, additional information, and addresses all substantive comments received during the public comment period on the Draft Environmental Impact Statement (DEIS). The DEIS was accepted for public review on June 7, 2010, and a public hearing was conducted on July 12, 2010, by the City of Rochester Environmental Commission (REC). The public comment period ended on August 6, 2010.
Water main extensions and improvements project
The City’s Water Main Extensions & Improvements project involves replacing water mains that are structurally deficient, i.e. have a history of repeated breaks. This project also aims to replace water mains that are not capable of providing sufficient water quantity needed for fire-fighting purposes. Included with the new water mains are new fire hydrants and water services (from the water main to the curb stop). The curb stop is usually located between the curb and the sidewalk.
Submitting an Application
If not already completed, register the project with a member of the Zoning Staff in the Permit Office. The Zoning Staff will issue a denied Certificate of Zoning Compliance indicating an application to the board/commission is required.
Applications are accepted by appointment only and will not be considered if they are incomplete. Contact the person listed on the front page of the application to submit the completed application with the supporting materials. Staff will review the application and determine if it is complete.
Apply for a Tax Agreement
The City of Rochester offers property owners the ability to apply for a tax agreement to pay delinquent taxes in installments (plus interest) if the property owner demonstrates financial need.
If the property is not owner occupied, the owner must also demonstrate that they are in good standing with City Code Enforcement for all properties that they own. Please Note: Signing up for a tax agreement does not relieve any principal or interest amounts due.
Climate Change Resilience Plan
In 2019, the City released a Climate Change Resilience Plan (CCRP) to better prepare our community to adapt to climate change impacts. The CCRP has been supported in part by the New York State Climate Smart Communities Grant Program, Title 15 of the Environmental Protection Fund.
