Help the Animals Fund

Animal Services has a trust fund for financial contributions and uses such gifts for purchasing supplies and services not provided by the City's operating budget. As a municipal agency, contributions to Animal Services may be tax-deductible because they are used for public purposes pursuant to the Internal Revenue Service Code, Section 170. Donors should consult a tax adviser to determine if part or all of their contributions are tax-deductible.

RPD: Field Training Program

One of the most important steps in becoming an officer in the Rochester Police Department (RPD) is transitioning from the police academy and applying your knowledge to patrol duties in the "real, outside world.”

After successful completion of the police academy, you will be assigned to experienced Field Training Officers (FTOs) for training in the Field Training and Evaluation Program. The Field Training Program lasts about 12 weeks and is designed to help recruits apply basic knowledge learned in the police academy to "real life" situations.

This one-acre site is close to downtownKodak Tower, and the city’s two multi-purpose stadiums, and has easy access to Interstate 490.  The local neighborhood provides a pool of potential employees. The site is ideal for industrial, commercial, or community service development, preferably with ample job opportunities for city residents.
