Police and Citizens Together Against Crime Program (PAC-TAC)

About the Program

Rochester's Police Officers are on the front lines every day doing their best to combat crime and law-abiding citizens want to do their part and help. The Rochester Police Department (RPD) and community partners are working together to keep Rochester safe. Police and Citizens-Together Against Crime (PAC-TAC) needs your help in order to make a difference in our community.

Increasing neighborhood safety is not only the role of law enforcement but also involves concerned citizens working with the police in crime prevention initiatives.

Pre-Employment Drug Testing Policy

The City of Rochester requires all potential employees to submit to a pre-employment drug test. The City of Rochester strives to provide a drug free workplace and prohibits the possession, use, purchase, sale or transfer of controlled substances in or on City property or facilities. This policy explains the guidelines for pre-employment testing for controlled substances.

Rules for watershed visitation

If you plan on visiting the watershed, please be aware that there is no longer a permit system. Most of the property surrounding Hemlock and Canadice Lakes is now owned by the New York State Department of Environmental Conservation (NYSDEC) and is known as the Hemlock-Canadice State Forest.

Activities in the Hemlock-Canadice State Forest are now subject to the NYSDEC's Rules and Regulations for the Use of State Lands.

Spay and Neuter

Spay / Neuter clinic at Animal Services

Animal Services maintains an on-site spay/neuter clinic at the Animal Services Center on Verona Street. The clinic performs spay and neuter surgeries for animals that are available for adoption from the facility as a means of helping to address the challenges of pet overpopulation. Sterilization is also offered to pet owners seeking to reclaim pets.
