Brewery Line Trail
The ROC the Riverway initiative will consolidate more than two dozen transformative projects along the Genesee River under a single concept to achieve synergy and leverage the value of Rochester’s riverfront. Revitalizing the Genesee River corridor will help fuel our local economy. RTR will serve as a major asset in attracting new jobs and solidifying our identity as a vibrant waterfront community.
Brewery Line Trail was one of the 13 transformative projects along the Genesee River to receive a portion of the $50 million initial State Investment of Phase I funding for ROC the Riverway.

About the Brewery Line Trail project
The project made enhancements to High Falls Terrace Park and the Brewery Line Trail along the Genesee River. The project was the culmination of a coordinated City/State initiative to revitalize the east side of the Genesee River between the Pont de Rennes Bridge and the High Falls Overlook, and included the rehabilitation of High Falls Terrace Park and that part of the Genesee Riverway Trail within the project area on the gorge edge.
Park improvements were made to enhance the scenic quality of the waterfront and views of the High Falls. The improved trail better serves the increasing demand for access and use of the area. The project included park gateway improvements, including walkways, landform, indigenous plantings, furnishings, lighting, event space, bio retention areas, wayfinding signage, and trail and river railing rehabilitation.
