PERMIT OFFICE CHANGES COMING OCTOBER 3, 2022!

The Certificate of Occupancy Program will be moving to room 028B with hours: Monday – Friday from 9am to 4pm
Walk in service for the Building Permit and Zoning offices will be available: Monday, Wednesday and Friday from 9am to 4pm.
Permit drop off and Grab & Go application forms will be available in the lobby of the A Building Monday through Friday from 9am to 5pm.

Type of Property	Current Requirements
One or Two Family Owner Occupied	No C of O Required
One or Two Family Owned by RHA	No C of O Required
One or Two Family, Occupied by the Owner's Spouse, Child, Parent or Sibling	A C of O Exemption may be obtained by submission of the required application and proof of residency & relationship. The Exemption, once approved, must be renewed every Three Years.
One or Two Family Non Owner Occupied	C of O Required every Six Years The only exception to this would be if: The C of O for a one or two family is issued on or after 1/1/2014 The property is located in the Lead High Risk Area Interior Deteriorated Paint is found during the C of O inspection; and Interim Controls are used to remedy the lead hazard In this situation, the C of O must be renewed every Three Years.
Mixed Occupancy Building containing One or more dwelling units	C of O Required every Three Years
Multiple Dwelling	C of O Required every Three Years
Commercial	C of O Required ONLY when they establish or change use
Transfer C of O for Single Family	Not required
Transfer C of O for Two Family	Required if no C of O issued within Two Years
Transfer C of O for Mixed Occupancy	Not required
Transfer C of O for Multiple Dwellings	Not required
Re-occupancy of a Dwelling vacant for more than Two Months	Required if a C of O has not been issued within the past Year
