July 4th Celebration in Downtown Rochester

The classic downtown fireworks extravaganza is back for 2024! 

The Broad Street Bridge & Court Street Bridge will be closed to vehicular traffic for pedestrian viewing. Bring your friends and a chair!

  • Launch time: 10 p.m.
  • Duration: 15-20 minutes
  • Free Parking: Sister Cities Garage, Court St. Garage, Washington Sq. Garage.

The following streets will close at 8 p.m. and will re-open as soon as spectators leave the area after the show:

  • Court Street from South Avenue to Exchange Boulevard 
  • Broad Street from South Avenue to Exchange Boulevard. 

Rochester City HallNeighborhood Service CentersR-CentersRochester Animal Services, the Rochester Public Market, Rochester Public Library branches, and the Honorable Loretta C. Scott Center for Human Services administrative office building at 57 St. Paul St. will be closed on Thursday, July 4 in observance of Independence Day.

Refuse and recycling collection will not take place on Thursday, July 4, and pickups will be delayed by one day for the remainder of the week.

The 311 Call Center will remain open with normal hours of 7 a.m. – 9 p.m., Monday – Friday.
