Aqueduct District Street Improvement Project
Project Description
As a part of the ROC the Riverway initiative, and the overall Aqueduct Reimagined and Riverfront Promenades vision, the Aqueduct District is being transformed into a pedestrian friendly area, while maintaining accommodations for vehicular access.
The project includes street reconstruction and streetscape improvements to Aqueduct Street, Bank Place, Basin Street, Graves Street and Race Street. Aqueduct Street will be converted to one-way southbound, Bank Place will be converted to one-way westbound and a new traffic signal will be placed at the intersection of Bank Place and Exchange Boulevard.
Improvements will also include new sidewalk, curb, curb ramps, driveway aprons, drainage basins, hydrants, lighting, signing, pavement markings, and other various streetscape improvements. Interim improvements to Bank Place are anticipated during this phase of the project. Final improvements to Bank Place will be included in a later phase of the Aqueduct Reimagined and Riverfront Promenades project.
