Specifications

The City of Rochester maintains and requires contractors to use uniform specifications for the construction of public works projects within the city. The specifications are divided into several categories:   

• 1991 City of Rochester Standard Construction Contract Documents (including the standard specifications) 
• Supplementary Specifications: Specifications that have been expanded or updated over the years and supersede their related standard specification
• State-approved City Specifications for use with Federal/State-Funded Projects: For projects that contain federal or state funds, either in whole or in part, only locally prepared specifications that appear on this list can be utilized
• Water Specifications: The standard specifications for water work have been rewritten and are now maintained by the Water Bureau
• New York State Specifications: the standard specifications maintained by New York State Department of Transportation.
