Supervisor Boot Camp
Required leadership training for all City managers
The City of Rochester is launching the 2025 Supervisor Boot Camp, a five-week leadership development program designed by the Department of Human Resources.
This training is mandatory for all City managers and aims to strengthen leadership skills, build confidence, and deepen your understanding of City policies and HR processes.

Program launches April 15
The first cohort begins Tuesday, April 15. Additional sessions will run throughout the summer and fall, continuing into 2026. New managers will be invited to register first, with more cohorts opening as dates are confirmed.
Each cohort is limited to 25 participants. All sessions will be held at the Office of Training (57 St. Paul Street, 4th Floor – Training Room 401), unless otherwise noted. Parking assistance will be provided.

Each week focuses on a key area of leadership and supervision:
- Week 1 – Leadership Fundamentals
- Week 2 – Team Collaboration & Communication
- Week 3 – Performance Management
- Week 4 – Operational Processes & Procedures
- Week 5 – Career Pathways & Employee Development
Upcoming cohorts
Training sessions are held on Tuesdays. Current registration is open for:
- April 15 – May 13
- May 27 – June 24
- July 15 – August 12
Free Parking available
Parking: Free Vouchered Parking will be available at the Mortimer Garage- located at 83 Mortimer St - Parking Passes will be issued at the end of class.
Special Instructions: For quick, safe, and secure access to the Training Facility, upon exiting the Mortimer Garage, please walk through the RTS Transit Center. The exit is directly across from the main entrance of our office at 57 St. Paul.
