Genesee Riverway Trail North Feasibility Study
The City of Rochester is developing an in-depth feasibility study that examines the 8.5-mile northern portion of the GRT that extends from downtown Rochester to Lake Ontario, with the goal of creating a seamless trail on both sides of the river that is accessible to all ages and abilities.
The planning process includes information gathering, mapping and data analysis, community-based research, and significant public and stakeholder engagement. To sign up for updates and leave comments, please sign up here.
Community Engagement
Community engagement and community input is an important part of the planning process. We will be gathering community input in a few different ways:
- Public meetings
- Interviews with community members and stakeholders within the project area
- Pop-up outreach events
- Partnering with a Project Advisory Committee
Upcoming Events
Please join us for the first public meeting for the Genesee Riverway Trail North Feasibility Study for Sunday Nov 17th from 11am-3pm at the Edgerton R Center. The “Genesee River Community Forum” is being hosted in partnership with the Genesee River Alliance. We will be highlighting all the different ways that the City of Rochester and our community partners are investing in the Genesee River corridor, which includes our Riverway Trail Study. Hope to see you there!
