Public Market Tours

 MarketMatters-page-header

For over a century, the Public Market has been one of the most iconic and interesting places in Rochester. To share the past, present and future of the Market, the Friends of the Rochester Public Market offer tours to school groups, youth organizations, and just about any other group interested!  While the majority of the tours are for elementary school youth, they can be adapted for older youth and adult groups.

Tours can be scheduled on Thursdays between the hours of 9 a.m. and 12 p.m. from April through October, weather permitting, and can be adjusted to meet the age and the interest of the group. There is a minimum of 10 people per group, and youth groups must be age 6 and up.

There is a $40 fee for each group (up to a maximum of 25 people) with discounts available to K-12 groups. Payment must be made in advance or provided on the day of the tour. Payment must be made in advance or provided on the day of the tour. Checks should be made payable to the "Friends of the Public Market," 280 North Union Street, Rochester, NY, 14609.

Tours for the current year can be scheduled after January 1 of the year. Please note that tours during the school year fill up early, so plan for scheduling.
