December 24, 2022 News Release -- Boil Water Notice Lifted, Water Safe to Drink in All Areas of the City (Saturday, Dec. 24, 2022) – The boil water notice that had been in effect for large parts of Rochester as a result of a water main break on Favor Street near West Main and Ford Streets has been lifted and tap water is now safe to drink in all parts of the city. Categories: Pets and Animals City of Rochester News Release — City, USDA Wildlife Services to Disperse Winter Crows (Tuesday, Dec. 6, 2022) – The City will commence its annual wildlife management operation today to disperse winter roosts totaling 20,000 to 30,000 crows. Wildlife biologists from the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s (USDA) Wildlife Services Program will break up the roosts with the use of pyrotechnics, spotlights, lasers and amplified electronic recordings of crow distress calls. These methods will not harm the birds.Management efforts will begin at dusk in the Downtown area and continue through the night.
