Mayor Evans announces DES leadership change

Mayor Malik D. Evans announced today that Department of Environmental Services (DES) Commissioner Richard Perrin has decided to leave his City position to pursue other opportunities. His last day will be Friday, Nov. 15.

“I thank Rich for his dedication and expertise over the past nearly three years,” said Mayor Evans. “Under his leadership, the Department of Environmental Services has completed several important initiatives.”

Rochester Public Market to host November Thursday Thinkers series with focus on holiday meals

The November series for the Thursday Thinkers: Insights into Rochester discussion series continues this week under the theme Holiday Food, Shopping and Cooking from 6 to 7:30 p.m. at the City of Rochester Public Market Education Nutrition Center, 280 N. Union St. 

Participants at each event can have their names entered into a drawing for $10 in Public Market Tokens. The Market Nutrition Education Center is located in the B Shed.

Mayor Malik D. Evans launches Bank On Rochester

Mayor Malik D. Evans announced today the launch of Bank On Rochester, an initiative aimed at ensuring that all city families have access to safe, affordable and nationally certified accounts through bank or credit union nationally. The coalition aims to address the significant barriers faced by unbanked and underbanked residents, fostering greater financial stability and empowerment within the community.

City Council Committee Meetings - Day 2

City Council Committees meet over the course of two days, generally on the 2nd Wednesday and Thursday of each month. The primary function of these committees is to review all proposed legislation and to recommend adoption, consideration, or rejection by the entire Council, either as written or with amendments.  During these meetings, the Council will sometimes hear presentations from the Administration and/or outside entities and stakeholders on various topics impacting the community.
