Collective Bargaining Agreements

City of Rochester Labor Relations

The Labor Relations Division is part of the Department of Human Resource Management. The Labor Relations Division negotiates and administers collective bargaining agreements with City employee unions. It processes grievances, represents the City in arbitration proceedings and legislative hearings, and represents the City in conferences and hearings before the Public Employee Relations Board. It advises the Mayor and department heads on contract matters and conducts related research.

Maplewood Park Playground Improvements

Project Background

Located in the northwest quadrant of the city, Maplewood Park is one of two original parks laid out by Frederick Law Olmsted to highlight the Genesee River. Encompassing just over 31 acres, Lower Maplewood Park includes picnic areas, open green space, a playground, a pond, parking lots, and a 4,300 sq./ft. building with adjacent parking area that currently serves as an office space for the City’s Training & Safety team.

Project Background

Located in the northwest quadrant of the city, Maplewood Park is one of two original parks laid out by Frederick Law Olmsted to highlight the Genesee River. The park contains the last unpaved section of the scenic Genesee Riverway Trail (GRT), a 24 mile long, multi-use trail for walking, running, and bicycling.
