Aqueduct Street (Main St to Bank Place)This project consists of pavement reconstruction, the installation of curbing, sidewalks, drainage, lighting, landscaping, amenities, signage, and other incidental items. The paved surfaces will be a combination of concrete pavers, cast-in-place concrete, and asphalt. The project will be constructed using phased construction.Updated 6/28/24: Sidewalk work continuing along aqueduct the week of July 1st. Road box-out to continue the week of July 8th.

Brooks Avenue (Genesee Park Blvd. to Genesee St.)Scope: Milling and Resurfacing of existing roadway, spot road base repair, spot curb, sidewalk and curb ramp repairs,  and roadway utility adjustments. In addition, new  traffic loops, pavement markings, and signs.Updated 05/2/24: City's contractor has resurfaced the roadway, there is a known issue with areas of previous water service repairs which have caused depressions in the west bound lane. The City is working with the contractors to solve the problem.

Charles Carroll Plaza/Sister Cities BridgeThis project consists of the construction of a new pedestrian access connection from the upper level of the Charles Carroll Park Plaza to the existing Sister Cities Bridge and improvements to the lower walkway along the Genesee River.
Updated 6/28/24:  Contractor has begun work on the plaza and sister cities bridge.  Contractor work zone includes the walkway along the Genesee River from Main St to Andrews St.  Access to this area will be restricted until end of July 2024.  Sidewalk on the south side of Andrews St is closed from State St to St Paul Blvd due to this project.

Culver Road (Garson Ave to Laurelton Rd) Work involves: Milling and Resurfacing of existing roadway, spot road base repair, spot curb, gutter, sidewalk and curb ramp repairs,  and roadway utility adjustments. In addition, new bicycle facilities, bus stop landing pads, traffic loops, pavement markings, curb bump outs and mid-block crossings will be installed at select locations.Updated 06/28/24: Drainage work will commence the week of 07/08 on Culver Rd at Meredith St.

Genesee Street
(Scottsville Road/Elmwood Avenue to Brooks Avenue/South Plymouth Avenue)
Work involves: full depth reconstruction of the existing roadway; water main and water service; new drainage structures; curb; sidewalk; asphalt cycle track; signals; lighting; signing; marking; new trees.Updated 06/28/24: City's contractor to continue sewer work along the west side of the road and sidewalk work to begin following conduit install by private utilities. Private utilities working throughout project corridor. 

One-way for south bound traffic in place for construction season. North bound traffic detour will be posted.

Goodman Street
(Bay Street to Clifford Avenue)
Work consists of pavement reconstruction, installation of new granite stone curbs and underdrain pipe, sidewalk and driveway apron replacement, new catch basins, replacement of watermain connections, hydrants, and water services, new traffic signal systems at Bay St and Clifford Ave, new fiber duct, tree planting, street lighting upgrades, pavement striping, and new signage.Updated 06/28/2024: City's contractor has paved the east side of the road and will mobilize to the west side.  Expect alternating one-way traffic and delays during work operations.  Contractor will begin sidewalk removal and drainage improvements on the west side. Utility contractors rebuilding electric manholes.

Park Avenue (Alexander St to East Ave)This is a central repository for all utility work currently being conducted in advance of the City of Rochester milling and resurfacing project.

Fall 2025 (M&R Project)

Pont de Rennes BridgeWork involves structural repairs, bridge deck replacement, lighting replacement, railing modifications, and landscaping improvements.Updated 06/28/24: City's contractor has begun work on the bridge and Granite Mills Commons.  Structural steel repairs are complete on the bridge superstructure.  Bridge deck is being poured in sections approximately biweekly.

Bridge will be closed to pedestrian traffic from July 5, 2023 through the end of 2024. A pedestrian detour will be posted and maintained throughout construction.  This detour directs traffic across the Smith St/Bausch St bridge.

Updated 6/28/24:  Contractor substantially complete.

Expect delays and new traffic pattern.

Updated 6/28/24: Contractor anticipated to start spot sidewalk removals on South Plymouth starting the week of June 17th, 2024.
