City of Rochester residents can recycle their holiday trees now through the end of January by dropping them off at one of four locations throughout the city or by leaving them curbside on their designated refuse and recycling day.
The trees will be chipped, and the resulting mulch is returned to the public at no charge through the City’s Materials Give Back Program.

The brutal beating of Robert Brooks, captured in the videos released today by New York State’s Attorney General, was beyond horrific. My heart goes out to Mr. Brooks’ family and friends, and I call on all of Rochester to keep them in your prayers as they process this terrible incident.

Join the Friends of Mount Hope Cemetery to experience the cemetery’s beauty in winter. The 60-90 minute tour route is entirely on flat, paved roads that are routinely plowed by cemetery staff. The tour will cover the history of Mount Hope Cemetery and highlight the famous Rochester citizens who are buried in the south end of the cemetery. Tickets are $15 for non-members and free for members.
*Tickets for each tour will be available approximately one month before the tour date.
