Dentzel Menagerie Carousel

The historic Dentzel Menagerie Carousel at Ontario Beach Park has inspired childhood memories of summer for more than a century. Built by the G.A. Dentzel Co. of Philadelphia, the carousel was installed at its present site in 1905. Its 52 hand-carved animals and two chariots offer children an imaginative, fun-filled menagerie. Figures include horses, mules, ostriches and a tiger.

The carousel opens for the season on Memorial Day weekend. Learn more about Ontario Beach Park.

Oxford Street Mall

Oxford Street in Rochester's Park Avenue Neighborhood is well known for its magnificent row of magnolia trees, which come into bloom each spring. This magnificent display of color is short lived but dramatic. For some area residents, a trip to see the magnolias is an annual tradition, along with a visit to one of many shops and restaurants in the surrounding area. The Oxford Mall extends from Monroe Avenue to Park Avenue.

Troup Street Park

Located in the heart of the city, Troup Street Park boasts an open ball field and updated soccer field, a regulation-sized basketball court, two play structures, benches, swings, a spray feature, bike racks, and an exercise trail- perfect for walking or jogging- around the perimeter.
