2022 Street Maintenance Resurfacing Projects

About the Project

The City resurfaced a few local streets in 2022 and 2023.  The top 1.5 inches of asphalt was milled off and repaved with a new asphalt surface. Minimal adjustments were made to the pavement elevation as necessary to improve drainage. There was no proposed work to the existing curbs, sidewalks, tree lawn, street signs or driveway aprons. There was no proposed work to any existing utilities, including adjustments.

Downtown Parking Garages

The City of Rochester offers convenient, indoor parking options for Downtown residents, workers, and visitors. The map below shows the location of the City’s downtown parking garage and provides information about each garage, including hourly and daily maximum rates. City Parking Garages are administered by the Off-Street Division of the Bureau of Parking, 42 South Avenue, Rochester, NY 14614.

What To Do If You Find Stray Kittens

We frequently receive calls from citizens who have found unattended kittens and do not know what to do. Many deliver boxes of such kittens to the Animal Services Center without knowing if the kittens were actually orphaned or not. Our colleagues at the San Diego Humane Society have shared this flow chart to help citizens recognize which kittens need help and what to do based on the age of the kittens and other circumstances.

Historic marriage records

Copies of original Marriage Licenses from the years 1908-1960 can be obtained from microfilm records. To obtain a copy, you will need both spouses' names, and the volume and license number displayed on the screen. You may then order a copy of the microfilm record of the marriage license for $10.00, or you can call and make an appointment at the Rochester City Archives (585-428-7331) to research the microfilm yourself at no charge.
