Considering getting rid of your pet? - surrender prevention resources and rehoming support

Keeping families together

We strive to reunify, re-home, or transfer as many animals that enter our care as possible. This is challenging, given that all animals owned by Rochester residents or found within the city are accepted regardless of age, health, species, breed, type, or behavior. There are hundreds of sick, injured, abandoned, and lost companion animals that are in greater need of shelter compared to one healthy pet already in a home.

Liquor license notices

New York State law requires that restaurants and bars that sell liquor to the public must provide the local Clerk’s Office with notification of their license application 30 days prior to selling liquor.

The links below open a list of such applications that have been provided to the City Clerk. Each file lists the dates the notifications were received by the City Clerk’s Office, the name of the bars or restaurants and address of the establishment.

Street and Sidewalk Right-of-Way Permits

Are you doing construction work or placing signs/tables/awnings/etc in public right-of-way?

The right-of-way includes all City streets, street pavement, curbing, sidewalks, the area between the curb and the sidewalk, and in most residential areas it generally includes a zero to four (4) foot width of land between the sidewalk and the home.

A permit is required for all work and activities performed in the right-of-way.

Pre-Planning at Riverside

Why Should I Choose to Pre-Plan at Riverside?

The death of a loved one is a tragedy every household will unfortunately experience at one time or another. Most families will find themselves emotionally and financially unprepared to deal with the decision making and costs of a death in the family, if they have not planned ahead.

Planning in advance is a gift of love. By planning ahead, your family will be spared the stressful and emotional task of making final arrangements for you on one of the worst days of their lives.
