The paved surfaces will be a combination of concrete pavers, cast-in-place concrete, and asphalt. The project will be constructed using phased construction. Updated 09/29/23: Private utility work to continue. City's contractor anticipated to start on or about mid-October, 2023.

Beechwood Neighborhood (Webster Ave to Culver Rd : East Main St to Bay Rd) This project consists of the construction of new ADA curb ramps including new granite curbing, underdrain, concrete, and embedded detectable warning surfaces. New catch basins will be installed at select locations, and other catch basins may receive new frames and grates. 
Updated 09/28/23: Contractor to begin curb ramp excavation, curb replacement and pouring concrete on Parkside, McKinster/Bay, Richland (South) and Ferris (North).

Brooks Avenue (Genesee Park Blvd. to Genesee St.) Scope: Milling and Resurfacing of existing roadway, spot road base repair, spot curb, sidewalk and curb ramp repairs,  and roadway utility adjustments. In addition, new  traffic loops, pavement markings, and signs. Updated 9/28/23: City's contractor has resurfaced the roadway, there is an issue with areas of previous water service repairs which have caused depressions in the west bound lane. The City is working with the contractors to solve the problem.  Catch Basins  be adjustment work is ongoing.

Charles Carroll Plaza/Sister Cities Bridge This project consists of the construction of a new pedestrian access connection from the upper level of the Charles Carroll Park Plaza to the existing Sister Cities Bridge and improvements to the lower walkway along the Genesee River.
Updated 09/29/23:  Contractor has begun work on the plaza and sister cities bridge.  Contractor work zone includes the walkway along the Genesee River from Main St to Andrews St.  Access to this area will be restricted until at least winter 2023.  Sidewalk on the south side of Andrews St is closed from State St to St Paul Blvd due to this project.

In addition, new bicycle facilities, bus stop landing pads, traffic loops, pavement markings, curb bump outs and mid-block crossings will be installed at select locations. Updated 09/29/23: Contractor finishing sidewalk restoration and miscellaneous contract items.

Culver Road (Clifford Ave to Norton St)  Work involves: Milling and Resurfacing of existing roadway, spot road base repair, spot curb, gutter, sidewalk and curb ramp repairs,  and roadway utility adjustments. In addition, new bicycle facilities, bus stop landing pads, traffic loops, pavement markings, curb bump outs and mid-block crossings will be installed at select locations. Updated 09/29/23: Contractor has milled the roadway and is completing roadway repairs. Unforeseen water main break has delayed paving and restoration of the affected area will be done by another contractor.

Farmington Road (Wyand Crescent to Winton Road)   The scope of work consists of full pavement reconstruction, new granite curbs, spot sidewalk replacement, curb ramp upgrades, new driveway aprons, signage and pavement markings, new water services, repairs of manholes, and new speed humps.  Updated 9/29/23:  Contractor is completing driveway restoration, manhole adjustments, and concrete sidewalks.  Contractor will be installing curb from Whittington Rd. to Presque St.

Hazardous Sidewalk Replacement, Northwest Quadrant, 2023 Phase 4 Repair and replace hazardous sidewalk in sectors 1 & 2, and 21 - 29 of the northeast and northwest quadrants of the City.  Bordered by Clifford Ave.,  Clinton Ave. and the River.  northwest sectors bordered by Ridgeway Ave., West City Line, the Lake and the River.  Updated 9/28/23: This project will replace hazardous sidewalks in the listed sectors.  Work is complete in sector 25  with just driveway and lawn restoration ongoing.  The contractor is now replacing sidewalks in sectors 26 & 27.

Jefferson Avenue (Main St. to Champlain St.) Scope involves: Milling and Resurfacing of existing roadway, spot road base repair, spot curb, spot sidewalk,  curb ramp repairs,  and roadway utility adjustments. In addition, new bicycle facilities, pavement markings. Updated 09/29/23: Contractor has finished resurfacing , new pavement markings and adjustments to manholes and catch basins are almost complete.  The white edge lines have been placed to define the new lane layout, MCDOT will be installing the new parking signs.

Mount Hope Cemetery (South Ave. from Fifth Ave to Adlington Ave.) This project consists of road narrowing of South Ave. between Forest Ave. and Second Ave.  The project includes road removal of Fifth Ave. from Elm Ave. to South Ave., South Ave. between Fifth Ave. and Second Ave., and South Ave. between Forest Ave. and Adlington Ave. The contractor will also be conducting curb installation, utility adjustments, and lawn restoration. Updated 9/29/23: Contractor is completing punch list work. Rochester Earth, Inc. Orange and Saxton Street Work involves: Milling and Resurfacing of the existing roadway; storm sewers improvements; new curb; spot sidewalk replacement; lighting and signage.  Updated 9/28/23:  City's contractor has completed all work.  RG&E and their contractors  are still working on the underground electrical system.

Pont de Rennes Bridge Work involves structural repairs, bridge deck replacement, lighting replacement, railing modifications, and landscaping improvements. Updated 9/29/23: City's contractor has begun work on the bridge and Granite Mills Commons.  Structural steel repairs have begun on the bridge superstructure.  Deck removal is ongoing.

Bridge will be closed to pedestrian traffic from July 5, 2023 through the end of 2024. A pedestrian detour will be posted and maintained throughout construction.  This detour directs traffic across the Smith St/Bausch St bridge.

Updated 09/29/23: Contractor to restore to binder grade western most lane from Highland to Elmwood Ave. Signal work at Bellevue and Highland is ongoing. Contractor to begin placing asphalt bike paths from Highland to Bellevue. Contractor continuing to pour sidewalks north of Highland Ave.

State Street (Basin St to the Inner Loop) Work involves: full depth reconstruction of the existing roadway; water main; storm sewers; curb, pavement; sidewalk; signals; lighting; signing; marking; landscaping; and other streetscape enhancements. Updated 09/29/23: City's contractor is expected to pave the top course of asphalt on the project the week of October 2, 2023.

State Street, (from the Inner Loop to Broad Street), will be one-way for southbound traffic and remain this way through late November 2023. Detour will be posted for north bound travel. 

NOTE: CONSTRUCTION TO CONTINUE TILL THE END OF THE 2023 CONSTRUCTION SEASON.

In addition, new  traffic loops, pavement markings, and signs. Updated 9/28/23:   The contractor has  resurfaced the roadway south of Ernestine Street. Work on the new signal at Arnett St. is ongoing.  Paving from Lehigh St. to Arnett Blvd is anticipated to start on 9/29 .
