Charles Carroll Plaza/Sister Cities Bridge This project consists of the construction of a new pedestrian access connection from the upper level of the Charles Carroll Park Plaza to the existing Sister Cities Bridge and improvements to the lower walkway along the Genesee River.
Updated 11/22/22:  Contractor has begun work on the plaza and sister cities bridge.  Contractor work zone includes the walkway along the Genesee River from Main St to Andrews St.  Access to this area will be restricted until at least winter 2023.  Sidewalk on the south side of Andrews St is closed from State St to St Paul Blvd due to this project.

Chestnut Street (E. Broad Street to E. Main Street)      Work involves: Milling and Resurfacing of the existing roadway; storm sewers improvements; new curb; spot sidewalk replacement; lighting and signage. Updated 11/23/22: Contractor on hold until Spring due to weather and unforseen circumstances.

East Avenue (E. Main Street to Alexander Street) 
Work involves: Milling and Resurfacing of the existing roadway; storm sewers improvements; new curb; spot sidewalk replacement; lighting and signage. Updated 11/23/22: Contractor restoring brick and finishing miscellaneous contract items.

East Main St (North Goodman St to Culver Rd) Work involves: full depth reconstruction of the existing roadway; water main; storm sewers; curb, pavement; sidewalk; signals; lighting; signing; marking; landscaping; and other streetscape enhancements. Updated 11/23/22: Contractor is performing utility adjustments in the roadway. There will be temporary lane changes and shoulder closures on E Main St until this work is completed. 

Expect lane shifts during adjustment operations.

Elmwood Avenue (Mt Hope Ave to South Ave) Work involves: full depth reconstruction of Elmwood Avenue, from Mt. Hope Ave to South Ave, including new water main, drainage structures, curb, pavement, sidewalks, signals, lighting, signing, marking, landscaping and other streetscape enhancements.  Updated 11/23/22:  Contractor finishing adjustments and miscellaneous contract items.

Erie Harbor Phase II (Ford Street to 151 Mt Hope Avenue)      Work involves reconstruction of the Genesee Gateway Park, with updated pathways, new one-of-a-kind Timber playground, basketball courts, hand-carry kayak launch, landscaping features and seating/picnic areas.       Updated 11/23/22: Contractor will be shut down for winter.

Exchange St.(Ford St to S. Plymouth Ave)
This work is part of the West River Wall Improvements Phase I
Updated 10/28/22: River trail is now open for the length of the project. The contractor will be on site intermittently working on final clean up, art work  and landscaping

All lanes are open on Exchange St. Northbound from Ford St to S. Plymouth Ave.

Main Street Streetscape & Pedestrian Wayfinding, Phase II The scope of work consists of replacement of the existing streetscape between Exchange Boulevard/State Street and South Avenue/St. Paul street. South Avenue (Elmwood Ave to Bellevue Dr) Work involves: full depth reconstruction of South Avenue, from Elmwood Ave to Bellevue Drive, including new water main, drainage structures, curb, pavement, sidewalks, signals, lighting, signing, marking, landscaping and other streetscape enhancements.   Updated 11/23/22: Contractor continuing water main installation and restoration of site for winter shut down.

State Street (Basin St to the Inner Loop) Work involves: full depth reconstruction of the existing roadway; water main; storm sewers; curb, pavement; sidewalk; signals; lighting; signing; marking; landscaping; and other streetscape enhancements. Updated 11/22/22: RG&E Utility work continuing the week of November 28, 2022 on along the east side of State Street.

City's contractor to continue work on water service replacements and sewer main work the week of November 28, 2022 working north along each side of State Street.

One-way south bound traffic from Allen Street to Broad Street implemented on Monday, August 15, 2022 through the end of November 2022. North bound traffic detour posted on August 15, 2022.
