Pueblo Nuevo Group Street Rehabilitation Project
About the Project
The Pueblo Nuevo Group Street Rehabilitation Project is named as a tribute to the Pueblo Nuevo affordable housing project that was completed in 2022 and borders the streets within the project area. The project is located in the CONEA (Coalition of NorthEast Associations) Neighborhood of the Northeast Quadrant, Upper Falls section, of the city of Rochester. CONEA is home to the International Plaza and St. Michael’s Church, an architectural gothic stone landmark built in 1890. Other historic sites in CONEA include the Genesee Brewery and Coca-Cola Bottling Company.
- The Project is a street improvement project that includes the following streets. Listed next to each street segment is the proposed street treatment:
- Sullivan Street (North Clinton Avenue to Joseph Avenue) - Reconstruction
- O’Brien Street (West End to Joseph Avenue) – Rehabilitation
- Hoeltzer Street (North Clinton Avenue to Joseph Avenue) – Reconstruction
- Kappel Place (West End to North Clinton Avenue) – Milling and Resurfacing
General Project Description
Street improvements include new granite stone curb and underdrain system, milling and resurfacing, pavement reconstruction, driveway aprons, hazardous sidewalk replacement, catch basins, adjustments or replacements of manhole and catch basin frame and cover/grates, water valve box adjustments or replacements, hydrant relocations, potential street lighting improvements and restoration of all disturbed lawn areas.
